The ACT Foundation would love to award every ambitious student a scholarship; unfortunately, that’s not possible. Luckily, the internet is full of links to additional scholarship programs. Following are a few scholarship search tools we found that may assist you in your quest to fund your education:
Big Future by the College Board
The College Board’s Scholarship Search tool helps students find scholarships, other financial aid and internships from more than 2,200 programs, totaling nearly $6 billion. The site offers many additional tools for students.
Cappex is a free online college and scholarship resource for high school and college students. The site offers an extensive scholarship database, tools to help students choose a college and other resources.
Cheap Scholar provides a tool to search for appropriate scholarships from a database including more than 3 million scholarships worth more than $16 billion. The site also provides many additional resources for students and their families.
Fastweb is a leading online resource to search for scholarships. The site also offers many additional resources for students.
Federal Student Aid
Sponsored by the Federal Student Aid office of the U.S. Department of Education, this site provides scholarship application advice as well as a link to the Department of Labor’s free scholarship search tool.
GoodCall Scholarship Search Engine
This site offers a tool to help find and filter available scholarships. It also offers additional information for each program to help you determine the ease of applying and the competition level from fellow applicants.
High School Scholarships
This site provides links to college scholarships available to current high school students, including many programs offered by corporations.
MeritAid connects students with $11 billion of merit and academic scholarships from colleges across the country.
Sallie Mae Scholarship Database
This site’s Scholarship Search Tool provides access to 3 million scholarships offering up to $18 billion.
Scholarship America manages scholarship programs and offers additional assistance to students and their families.
Scholarships360 walks students through a process which will lead them to scholarships they have the greatest chance of winning.
The site provides a search tool to match students with over $1 billion in free scholarships.
In addition, don’t forget to check with your guidance counselor and local organizations for potential scholarship programs. Your odds of winning a community-based scholarship are often greater than with a national program.
Also, be sure to check with the financial aid office of the college(s) you plan to attend or are currently attending. You may qualify for scholarships, grants or other programs available from alumni and other donors.
